I think George delorean may have had a 68 bird w RAV power that raced in the Detroit area but feel like it was mainly street. I know there was a black firebird from engineering that prowled around.

I believe the car was owned by the Fender brothers. Not sure it was dealer sponsored. Always wanted to buy that car, in fact, still looking for a 68.
