This Garnet Red 69 Chevelle, 136379B393617, has an L72 with a TH400. I first saw this car at Osceola Dragway in the late 90's. It had Michigan personalized plates 427COPO at the time and still has them. Back then I assumed it was a clone, but I never talked to the owner. The auction writeup says it is powered by a 427/425 engine and then devotes a whole paragraph talking about the COPO program for Chevelles in '69. It never comes out and claims one way or the other what this car is. They also have the auction estimate as $125K to $150K which is COPO money. On the trim tag there is a B and an L in the bottom row. I don't know what these letters stand for, but every Baltimore built COPO Chevelle I have ever seen has a B and an M in the bottom row. Most SS's and some non SS's have the B and the L. Anyway, this car hammered for $53K.
