Default Correct Shock Color - What's the Deal?

I noticed that in Jerry MacNeish's book he says that the correct color for the shocks is gray. If you go to his website and look at the photo of the restored front suspension, it looks like the shocks are blue. <A HREF="http://www.z28camaro.com/restosvcs.html

I</A> must say that out of all the "factory" shocks that I have seen, all were blue and not gray. If you are going to claim to be an "expert" you should get it right! I'm not so sure I agree with him on everything in his book.
