I have a headache.
Since Rep. Rogers is a Republican, his idea will probably die in committee. And does his tax incentive apply only to US-built cars, which would arguably help our economy, or could one use it to buy a new BMW?
Allowing each state to set their own emissions standards, how will manufacturers be able to design and build vehicles?
And don't get me started on cash for clunkers, just sends more cars to the crusher.
Wouldn't it be more "green" to get an old car running and update it with modern technology for fuel efficiency and safety, than to crush it and send it to China so they can make new steel out of it and sell it back?
C'mon, America!!
PS - My Apologies if this is deemed political - IMHO it's a discussion of current issues. No mud-slinging intended.
