Not mine....but the original block is supposedly around somewhere. Still hoping for a needle in a haystack.
In the meantime, I hope to build the car with a correct L-89 motor. My car is neat because it has almost no options other than the Z11 and L-78 and M-22. no cosole or guages and a manual top. But they did opt for the Power Steering though. And apparently/possibly was raced because the discs were changed for drums at some point. A common racing trick back in the day.

And your car Joe?? Original motor?
Do tell please...

iluv69s, I emailed you a few months back on your car. I'm still looking for your block but haven't had any new leads. I heard the drum brakes on your car came from a 68 Camaro owned by the same individual. The 68 was being driven at the time and got the disc upgrade.

So do you have any names that I do not have? I have spoken to and have a letter from the prior owner that pulles the original motor in 1978 to install a 350 in order to save gas.

So are there actual documented L-89 Indy's out there?? That would defineitely be cooler than an L-78 car!!!

And how about M-22 Indy's? Any idea how many of them? Joe, is your car a 4-speed? Auto?

[/ QUOTE ]Good luck on your mission to find your original block.Mine has the complete original drivetrain and scored Legend in the Vintage class at the 2008 Camaro Nationals.Due to excessive wear and tear on the paint and interior I elected to do a full resto on it.
