They appear to hang below the bottom rim of the wheel, not good if you get a flat tire. I recall that being a no-no with some sanctioning bodies or vehicle safety regs. They do look cool though.
Good eye its in the NHRA rule book and may be in other sanctioning bodies rule book. They are day two cool though.
