Are you using the AAW 'factory fit' harnesses? It appears the wiper motor wire doesn't have a spare mm between the two connections. Mine's exactly the same.

Not sure what the "mm" wire is Rob? I remember reading a footnote about harnesses having this black & yellow jumper wire between the wiper and motor and recall it's so the motor see's high speed before the low speed will work or something like that. My memory isn't what it used to be.
