I have only ever used the large "U" bolt style clamp and both bars were the same length. I assume the twisted metal versions were earlier? I also only saw them sold in yellow. Bought my first pair in 1970. Jenkins painted most everything underneath white in those days. Helped reflect the heat. Plus, he customized his Lakewood bars up some too.

Yes, there is no telling what could’ve happened through the years with these old parts. Here is a set of bars that had me stumped when I stripped them.
Painted yellow with Mr. gasket decals, under that orange with the Mr. gasket logo and under that yellow with the Lakewood traction action markings!
