Well I guess a headlight is worthless when it makes white smoke inside. All but 2 of them smoked when I put full power to them. Only one T3 #1 and one T3 #2 survived the test.

I never use a battery charger to test bulbs. Not saying that is what you did, but an unregulated battery charger can put out as much as 18 to 24 volts. I only use a battery to check bulbs, and sometimes I use a 9 volt one to do that. They're easier to carry when going junk yarding. Burned out bulbs are a real tough sell.
