Somewhat keyed to interior color.

White, black, yellow and orange interiors had a black dash. Red, blue, medium green and dark green interiors had corresponding dash color. On LA built cars the VIN tag is always black. At Norwood, the tag matched the dash until early October '68 when black became standard.

The top of the dash & VIN tag was painted in lacquer with a suede additive that caused the paint to dry with a non-glare, textured surface. Same paint also used on the backlight moldings, speaker and defogger grilles.
