Playing cards clothes pinned to the frame of your bike for the spokes to make the "motor" noise ?? Man, I got my butt chewed for taking a couple of those, but in the end, I got the whole deck because I had ruined it. 2 cards in the front and 2 in the back made a HECK of a racket...

So, taking that thought a step further... we used to use hockey cards...

And get this, the one year I really, really collected hockey cards was when I was 9 in 1979... we used those in our spokes...
