1968 Yenko Camaro YS8013
I'm new to the Yenko forum and thought I would share my experience at Barrett Jackson yesterday bidding on YS8013 (along with a photo). Unfortunately, I came up short. I was at $475,000.00 and lost the car at $485,000.00. God only knows how high it would have gone had I kept bidding. I had the opportunity to spend approx. 20 minutes with the car and the Shop Manager from the American Muscle Car Museum. For all you Yenko fans, this one certainly didn't disappoint. It is a beautiful car.
YS8013 has an understated appearance with its grotto blue color. It is funny to watch those who don't know what a Yenko is just pass by and not give it a second look. The hugger orange Nova sitting directly behind it was getting 10 times the attention. Needless to say, the Yenko was the star of Barrett Jackson Palm Beach. Anyways, thank you everyone for the great posts in these forums and I hope you enjoy the picture. Up next - the 1967 Yenko Camaro Dick Harrell conversion going across the block in May at Mecum. Welcome to the forum. I bought 8013 years ago from the guy that restored it. Great car and pulled hard. When he was restoring it he was doing some welding on the top of the dash as I recall, went in for dinner only to have a neighbor tell him his car was on fire. Main damage was a warped roof that he replaced. Really a nice car as in some cars just feel right when you drive them. i know Bill Goldberg owned it after me. Bill called and asked if I could find him a buyer when he was done with it. Bill sold it to Wayne S.

I will just say a 68 Yenko in the color of Island Teal previously owned by Mike Gray of Gahanna/Columbus Ohio has a unflattering past when Mike owned it with the help of his good friend Dave Whitfield.

The YS 8013 is a good car. The car owned by Mike Grey was a different car and Island Teal as Doug mentioned.
