I remember that like it was yesterday.

Default 1964 Schwinn Stingray.

JMHO,

The most desirable year 1964 Stingray was the first ‘Full’ (12 months) of production by Schwinn on this New bicycle after the hugely successful trial run of 8+ months of the ‘63 Stingray.

Schwinn knew they had a bicycle that every kid wanted so now all hands on deck with models, colors, seats and multiple options for 1964.

Here are two factory Original (paint, decals, seats and dated tires) 1964 Stingrays in the rare color of Opal Violet.
This color was only offered for 12 months (Feb. ‘64 - Feb. ‘65).

The E4 (May ‘64) is a J39 Deluxe with the white “reverse” screened white paint on the chain guard, tufted solo polo seat and square back seat strut.

The K4 (Oct. ‘64) is a J37 Super Deluxe with a chrome chain guard with Opal paint and white screened letters, tufted Stingray saddle, high loop seat strut and the famous 20’’ chrome springer.

These two models also came with different style pedals.

Hey G,

After seeing what you are capable of with matching numbers GTO, Oldsmobile and Buick Survivors, this Pea Picker should be a breeze with eyes 👀 closed.
