Pete;
I think you are right on the money, the deuces were the same price as the L72's from '69 and the dealers did not want to get stuck with more high-priced inventory. Yenko Chev. still had 3 deuces on 1/1/71, H&H had one in Nebraska, Rapids Chev still had some I think, and Colonial had a whole bunch of them left. So, after the initial sales flurry of deuces, (several were sold within weeks of hitting the show floor), the remainder of them did prove difficult to sell.

JoeC;
NHRA has never classified the '70 Nova with an LT1. The NAAR in Oakmont, PA did classify it in F/Stock.

Took delivery of mine from Rapids 4/3/71. The gobi beige/yellow deuce that Jerry Alberts owns was still there.4650.00 was a lot of money for a rubber mat, bench seat, and am radio car. I don't think an LS6 chevelle would have been much more, depending on the options. Schonye

Schoneye;
The Sun Yellow Deuce from H&H in Sioux city sold on 1/2/71. The orig. owner was in town for a new years eve party, and needed to make a beer run. As he drove past H&H, this screamin yellow deuce was inside. He stopped to check it out, and then bought it the next day or so!

Colonial sold their citrus 4sp deuce in May of '71, that's the latest sell date that I know of for Deuces.

I've got his old address somewhere. Finding it could be a problem. He bought this one new from Mancuso. Sold it to a friend, and quickly knew he had messed up. Tried to buy it back for a while, but the guy wouldn't sell, so he bought a red deuce from Vince Emme that had been sold from Clif Peck. He semi started to resto it, when the guy decided to sell him back the green deuce. The red deuce came to Ia., and I have it now. Robert was at last years reunion. Maybe Tom, or Rob has a new address.
