I don't think GM kept color or vinyl top records but I think the vinyl top was a popular thing in the 60's. I remember looking for my 1st Camaro in the late 70's and being turned off by so many vinyl topped cars, but wound up buying one anyway. The 2-toned thing must have been GM's idea to give the customer a whole lot of options on customizing their new car.

Nothing on the colors were kept, but since the Vinyl Top was an RPO (RPO C08)GM does have the records for how many Camaros came with a vinyl top:
67 - 52455 68 - 77065 69 - 100602 Lot of cars had Vinyl tops, approaching 40% of all Camaros in 69. Lot more than have them now.
