The station wagon kit was made by a local fiberglass shop called Vic's Vetts from Lake Minntonka Mn. He made around 500 of them.
He is still alive, but was in trouble in the late 70's-early 80's. He tried to ping off his business partner through an arson job, and finally got convicted for it 5 years ago. From what I heard, he is doing life in prison now. There are a few of them around here yet...like a handful. We had one in the shop for many years...and they were cobbled up. A friend of mine that worked for Vic did one of the last few ones, and he told me about how crude Vic did things. From what Matt told me, Vic prefered on using Corvettes that were builders from the salvage auctions, and build them to keep the costs down. |
