Default $60K to spend, but on what???

I just got a new job and would like to celebrate by buying a nice "date car" or "ice cream car" for the family and I. You know...air bags, a/c, don't have to spend time tinkering with it, etc. I want something newer and have a budget of about $60K - $65K. This is not going to be a daily driver for me - weekends only. Prefer 4 seater, but will consider 2 seater. So far, the new Z06 and a '96 993 Turbo are at the top of my list. Any other suggestions?

Spend $5000 to $7000 on a nice 87-90 IROC Z-28 and the rest on converting your garage into a car-shrine/ultimate garage!

Nice Mosport!

NJSteve, one of the perks of the new job is that I can get most construction supplies at cost So, if all goes well, there will be a new house and garage in our futurem

I just picked up a BMW M3 convertible for the wife w/the SMG paddle shift. I think it is by far the best four seat convertible for the money. She was driving a Porsche Carerra 4 Cab. 6 speed, but the M3 is quicker and much more practical. The rear seats on the Porsche really don't fit kids over 5 years old. The M3 rear seats fit adults with no problem.

We had a 2001 M3 from 2001-2003 and its a rocket. period. black/black coupe with a 6 speed and in sport mode it will run with Z06's, Carerras and any AMG cars. Low end is rock solid but high end is just scary. Its got 330hp in an inline 6... low weight with strong performance.

Cool car.

How about saving a little $$$ & look into the Pontiacs.
The GTO for a 2 door or the
Grand Prix GXP 5.3 for a 4 door.
Both are extremely affordable & fast.
