Also, there's lot of good info over at dieselplace.com Our gravedigger has a new SD...I'll run it by him and see if it's doable...why isn't it, doable? On the Chevys the rears are the same, I believe, as I see lots of folks around here with duallys simply take off the inner wheels and run the single outer wheels/tires with the offset dually wheel...looks decent, actually? |

I was dealing with a fellow in Washington State who was trying to spec trucks for first response forest fire fighting, and at the time, the 2000 Chev and GMC were the only ones with a narrow enough track to fit where log skidders had been.
I'll try and dig his info up for you. He had looked at conversions and other options. You could also look at the outfits that convert trucks to run on railroad tracks, as their track width has to match the rails. |
