Today:

"Hello, we're obviously lost and we're very scared. Is this the bus out of Compton? Were those gunshots we heard a moment ago? Why are all those people across the street yelling and throwing rocks at us? Are we really in south-central Los Angeles or are we in Baghdad?"

(I wonder if that's Chrisman's service station? It was in Compton.)

I grew up in Inglewood,and it wasn't too bad in the late 60's,but by the early 70's the Bloods and the Crips started to take root. We had a restaurant on Crenshaw Blvd near Harry Mann Chev. from 1963 - 1974. From what I've heard from others,that area was nice in the 50's.
