Quote.."Bob just writes and articles and books, you guys are the ones with the knowledge and material (whether that be cars or photographs)."

Rick, now that Frank has clarified his first post we all know what he meant to say. But reading what he said at first implies writers don't or can't have any knowledge or expertise of their own? We all know of writers who can't turn a wrench yet who have accumulated expertise in specific area's and whose work is beyond reproach when it comes to factual accuracy. We all know of bonehead automotive writers as well? I think everyone would agree anyone who writes anything out to have an expert or two proof it???

I think we are all on the same page on this topic by now????

Les, Les, Les. This is becomming tedious. For the record. I DID NOT BASH/INSULT/DISCREDIT AUTOMOTIVE WRITERS IN GENERAL!!!!! I already explained to you in detail via PM that my problem is whith THIS PARTICULAR WRITER!!! There. Now you made me say it in public.

Jeez, this is why I rarely, if ever post anymore.

Brian answered my question. End of subject for me.

I was the technical and managing editor for a cornucopia of musclecar titles from 1990 to 1994. I would be happy to help if anyone needs any assistance with this project.

Frank, I agree you didn't bash automotive writers. I agree this is tedious. Glad you finally came out of the closet with regard to Bob. LOL, My work is done here. The planned picketing of your house by the automotive writers guild of America has been cancelled.

Steve,
I have no idea what a cornacopia is? Is that something sexual one does with a stalk of corn?

First of all, anyone who expects this book to be 100% accurate might as well save their money and not buy it, as there is no way Bob, nor anyone else, could write such a book. Case in point. In 1987 Don did an interview where he gave information that has been proven to be factual wrong. Why? Who knows? In addition, we know for a fact there are errors in the original paperwork we have, but because we do not want to risk hurting the integrity of the information, it will remain that way. It has been over 35 years since much of the history of Yenko took place, and as we all know, time has a way of changing what we remember, if we remember at all.

Bob is trying to get information from “ground zero”, as he has interviewed several folks who were directly associated with Yenko, including Don’s wife Hope, daughters Lynn and Terri and top salesman Mel Bogus, with several others on his “to do list”. BKH, Marlin, Joey and myself have been asked to provide information, mainly photos, original paperwork and other artifacts.

As with any book, I am sure several folks will be asked to proof it, but in reality, who really knows all there is to know about Yenko? Certainly not me. And as anyone who has been in this hobby any length of time knows, just when you think you have it figured out, new information surfaces that changes what you think.

I believe it is obvious by the email Bob sent me that he is serious about what goes into the book and will do his best to see that he puts out a quality product. I for one am looking forward to the finished product.
