Jason,
Thank you for informing us. I had just spoke with Dave last Wednesday and knew it would only be a very short time. Our heartfelt condolences to Carol and the kids, which I had the pleasure of meeting recently. Our hearts also go out to Dave's extened family as well. His son is destined to take over the reigns and was quite a mature young man when they visited here a couple months ago. Dave will be sorely missed not only as a friend but as a fellow hobbiest. He was deeply involved with not only his cars, but mostly his family and business. As of late, the gifts of life were his passion especially when he fell ill and he never let things pass him by. When he purchased Annie's LS-5 recently, I asked why he was buying a car when he had sold off most of his collection. He responded that he was in fact dying but was not going to wait around for it to happen and wanted to continue to enjoy them. If anyone finds out the details of the funeral arrangements, please post them. Annie and I will be traveling Tuesday and Wednesday and would very much like to attend if possible. Rest in peace Dave......... Rick and Annie

Howie just forwarded this information;
David Ray Miner, 47, of Donnellson died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born Oct. 7, 1960, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Raymond H. and Mary Lou Kiener Miner. On Aug. 27, 1988, he married Carol Ann Richers in Fort Madison. Mr. Miner was president and founder of Miner Manufacturing with 24 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, where he was a youth group leader. He was the founder of Minerville Railroad and a member of the Southeast Iowa Antique Car Club, where he served a term as vice president. He enjoyed playing in the city band. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Emily and Sara Miner, both of Donnellson; one son, Nathan Miner of Donnellson; and one sister, Deb Miner of Minneapolis, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation with family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Keokuk. The funeral for Mr. Miner will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, with the Rev. William Mitchell officiating. A memorial has been established for First Christian Church in Keokuk. King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison is in charge of arrangements. Thanks Kim.
