Actually my goal is to have the bed floor as straight as the rest of the car, and just as orange. I get jokes like, now we'll have a truck to take to the shows, that can hold the lawn chairs, coolers, etc. Not gonna happen!

Quick up-date on the ElCamino. Nothing very exciting to show in more pictures, but I've been very busy with body work. I've been spending a lot of my free time at my buddy's body shop, doing all the plastic work. He's nice enough to let me use a corner of the shop to create a whole bunch of plastic dust, so I don't have it in my garage at home. Getting the small dents out of the bed was the biggest task, but it looks much better. The roof had some holes under the vinyl top, which were repaired by welding in a few patches, then some plastic. It came out real nice. The body work is finished and it's ready for primer, then blocking begins. Hope to have it primed by this time next week.

I haven't posted progress pics for a couple weeks, so I thought I'd show you guys what's been going on with the ElCamino project. Been pretty busy for the last few weeks. All the body/metal work is finished. I shot primer on the whole body today. The doors and tailgate are ready for orange paint. The quarters and bed are ready for sanding primer. Then they have to be blocked out. The rest of the body is easy stuff, like painting the bottom black, and the interior red oxide, as it was from the factory. The plan is to finish up the quarters this week and maybe the bed, then I'm taking some time off for the Chevelle show in Nashville, where I will have the ElCamino chassis. Anyone going to the show, stop in and say hello. It will be under a tent near the vendors...

It's coming along great Bill and you are doing excellent work. Keep it up as I am sure it will be sweet when in paint.
