How much more does it weigh compared to a 70?
In the range of 200lbs. more, but a good stock Boss 351 will absolutely blow the doors off either a stock 302 or 429 Boss. Worth the wait (weight)

Love 71-73 Mach 1 Mustangs and always dreamed of owning a Boss 351! First car I ever drove back in 1984 was my sister's, boyfriend's black/tan 71 fastback with a 351 Cleveland and a automatic. It had a floor shift automatic without a console so he had a pillow between the seats so my sister could sit by him while they were cruising the loop back in Memphis, Mo. I was so short back then I had to use the pillow to sit on so I could drive the car. Jay would ag me on to get on it and I could barely keep the car in a straight line as it was going through the gears but I thought it was the coolest car ever. He ended up rear-ending someone with it in 1985 and I almost cried at the thought of the car being crushed because back then nobody fixed a car like, they were everywhere back then. I was living in my glory days back then and didn't even know it. Thanks Jay!!!

Here's a restored version of the original car we talked about on this post...in fact, I thought it was the same car until I checked the VIN.

Back in the day, the BIL of one of my friends was in Powertrain Engineering at Ford in Detroit. One time he brought home one of these, silver with red interior. The engine had been 'worked on' by some of his fellow workers, and he probably was involved too. Took us for a ride in it and wow, was that thing impressive!

Here's yet another '71 Boss 351, this time with the black comfortweave interior (definitely my preference):
