I know I speak for the voice of reason, when I say Colin doesn't need any more ammunition or ideas for his madcap brand of entertainment.

I'd like to add a couple of thoughts here as well...
I have always felt right at home since the first reunion that I went to...with Dennis Cumby introducing me to everyone. Seeing all of the amazingly restored, the survivors, the rarest of the rare...is worth the trip in itself. But for me...the real reason that I go is to have fun talking to and catching up with everyone. This year I played a practical joke on everyone...telling all that I wouldn't be there (there were a few that HAD to know...but they are really good at keeping secrets ![]() After getting smacked on the head by Annie...and getting the Cumby death grip on my arm (ala what he did to Darren)...I have learned my lesson....no more fibbing! ![]() I could spend a ton of time thanking a bunch of people...but I will just name a few... Thanks to Dennis Cumby for making the signs for the plate inserts and the other graphics as well. Thanks to Rick and Annie for transporting them (and the global award) to the show. Thanks to the Clary's for a great event. Thanks to Ken and Paulette for their awesome hospitality, lunch, tour of their house in Wisconsin and the use of a car for a week! ![]() Thanks to Mike G. for the "tour". Thanks the the Barr brothers...along with Don and Judi Stowers and Vicki Cumby and Jeff Murphy for their great job at the auction! Also, thanks to the bidders, people who donated and/or purchased items. ![]() Most of all...thanks to Darren, Adrianna and Gavin for their wonderful hospitality while we were in the Chi-town area. We stayed at their place...and the Costellos gave us the tour of Chicago,Palatine ![]() ![]()

I must say you pulled a fast one Bruce and I still cannot believe a drove right past you and Ken walking on the side walk, waved and kept right on driving never realizing the fast one you just pulled on us.......
![]() I have to say, the absolute highlight of the weekend was spending some really great time with Gavin, Holly and Caleb. Holly you teach a TON of people about looking at the brighter things in life and about going on with life as if tomorrow means everything. She actually brought tears to my eyes a couple of time as she really reached deep into my heart. What a fantastic young woman you have there Bruce and Lynn. Playing ball with her and Gavin Thursday night in the rain cannot be compared to. What an absolute blast for an old man! Thanks kids!!!! I also had a great time talking to Caleb about his latest "project". A 1954 Chevy Bel Air custom. My very first car (that I never got to drive) was a 1954 Chevy and seeing photos of this car and what Caleb has done to it completely blew me away. This kid has definitely got talent! I personally would love to see more photos and think it would be great if his "old man" would start a thread in the lounge so we could all see Caleb's progress. Yet another time this weekend when a young person opened my eyes to our future and what is worth living for. Thanks guys!

now that we've finally came back to reality i can post some of the pictures that really made the 3 week thrashing of 2 cars all worth the while. first i want to thank tom and rob clary for allowing us to race the cars down there. and also everyone that had a picture signed by dominic.i could barely get his helmet on his swollen head after that. special thanks to brian and joe from SCW for everything they did for dominic. thanks to dennis cumby for making the credentials for dominic and myself. and of course thanks to bruce and ken for the "up to the minute"(well almost) picture posting for all of you to see that could not attend.it was a great family weekend that will be remembered forever.the cars are what bring us there, its the people that make the memories.once again THANKS to everyone that made this event so awesome.

mom was too nervous to take a still picture of his first pass but was able to manage to regain her composure for the time. they had trouble with the timing system so i couldnt get an actual 1/8th mile time but he kept his foot in it all the way thru the 1/4. i had the car come out of the hole real slow and then kick in about 200 ft out. ![]() more signing, i believe this guy was the first to 220 mph in a front engine dragster. dont recall his name ![]() the family at the indoor show. ![]() thats all for now. |

even though the chevelle developed an oil leak right after the burnout(bob mcclurg told me thurs.that the more smoke the better, hes shooting for super chevy) and was shut off, we had a great weekend getting dominic down the track.after each pass he made he asked me to go faster.i told him we arent here to go fast but to learn what to do,from staging to turning that 14 foot car off the track. im proud to say that he did everything exactly right.now maybe we can turm him loose a little bit more. see everyone at the fall vettefest!!!!
