It will be VERY interesting to see what happens in terms of how cars are invited/accepted/chosen to fill up X amount of square footage. Now there will all brands of vendors to accommodate, along with the $$$ they pay for space.
I'm thinking Bob will have to always oblige the Corvette people will ample space. The remaining that was ALL Chevy, will now be Chevy, Ford, Mopar and AMC. Wondar if Steve Shaugers VINTAGE program at this show will start including ALL the brands ????? This show should turn into the most prestigious Muscle car invitational show in America. Only time will tell............

This show should turn into the most prestigious Muscle car invitational show in America. Only time will tell............ [/ QUOTE ] Chuck, I must say THANKS for addressing these issues, since there will obviously be new procedures implemented in the interest of producing the absolute very best show possible. The response has been, well...overwhelming. Vicki is going through e-mails now. With this being a multi-make event, the entry procedure will be somewhat strict. Entries must include pictures, which can be e-mailed, before a car is accepted. The only exceptions are cars that are individually invited/recommended by the MCACN LLC members. The goal is to produce a show that has something that other shows either don't have, or have in very limited numbers; PRIME Supercars, Muscle Cars, Collector Cars and Corvettes. Since the amount of space is indeed limited and the doors are now open to so many more makes, (and also the vendors that cater to these makes), I am confident that with a LOT of work and travel, and the continued support of those of us who are truly devoted to what we are doing, we will indeed be able to produce a world-class event. Steve Shauger will oversee the certification of a very limited amount of Camaros AND Chevelles for this show. We are investigating the possibility of expanding to include Corvettes for this show and additional marques for future shows. We will not offer the Vintage Certification for other makes/models until we are 100% able to handle this properly. Any recommendations in this area for other makes and models, please let Mr. Shauger know: [email protected]. If you have a candidate for Vintage Certication, please let Steve know asap. YES...Mr. Lillard will be our first participant for Vintage Certification. Please keep the questions and idea's coming and PLEASE sign up on the website for updates. Since I do not have access to any prior data base information, I need to build a completely new data base. Also, anyone who can help us spread the word via other websites or in any other way, please do! I need your help to make this work! Plan on seeing my mug a lot more this season. THANKS; Bob Ashton MCACN, LLC |

[ QUOTE ] its about time Bob....i didnt think i could hold out any longer with out spilling the beans !!! i know this show will be the BEST ever !! ![]() [/ QUOTE ] And perhaps YOU have a bit of an announcement pertaining to the show, Mr. Morocco? Maybe something geared toward our younger enthusiasts...the future of our hobby? ![]() Bashton [/ QUOTE ] after participating in last falls VF, i noticed something that i thought needed addressed. i had dominics dragster there on display. we had a ton of other kids that wanted to look at the car,ask if they could sit in it, ask to have pictures taken by it. the only problem that i saw was when "dad" wanted go the kids had to go too. it seemed to me that the kids(and the moms ) were being pulled behind dad looking at the stuff that he wanted to. i think that if i can get the kids more involved with the shows to make their own show experience enjoyable, that will in turn, 1) get more kids involved with the cars that "we" all love and 2) maybe bring more "moms" to the show as well. after all the more people thru the gate the better ! so i contacted Bob and told him my thoughts. what i want to do is to have about 10 or so jr dragsters there on display and as the kids come over to see the cars, they can see all the different types of cars from the beginner cars to the 17 year old 7.90/85 mph cars along with some really neat paint jobs and body wraps. they also can go on sort of a " scavenger hunt." they will be given a card with 10 or so things on them for them to find thru out the show. maybe one would be to find a 69 camaro with "Its Something Else" painted on it and have the owner sign their card. after they get all of them signed they can bring them back to the display and win a prize. maybe an event sticker or t-shirt or whatever. this way as they're being pulled along by dad, they are actually looking at the cars as well. i already have 5 cars confirmed and are extremely excited about it as well. im also trying to find a chassis shop that may donate a rolling chassis with the side cut out for the ease of a kid getting in for a photo op. i do have a few more ideas for the kids that i need to pass along to Bob, but i think this will be a very good thing for this show. sorry for the long post and hope you all bring your kids to the show !! ![]() |

We are committed to long term viability with this show, and to do this, we need to build a foundation with the younger "enthusiasts" also.
If we can spark some interest with some of the younger people who are "dragged along", this will help us achieve this goal. Do you remember the first car related event that left a lasting impression with you? Maybe we can create that impression... Our Thanks go out to Jeff and his family for coming up with this great idea. Bashton |
