The plan was to drive the Nova around most of the summer, then start pulling the car apart. Well the plan has changed. I decided to start the project now.

First step, pull the battery out, and remove the rad cap, then drain the water. Then I started pulling the nose off. I also removed the gas tank and all the fuel lines, because I wanted all the gas out of my shop for safety reasons.

I got way more done than I planned for one afternoon/evening. The trans is out, after a major fluid spill. The motor is ready to come out....probably tomorrow evening.

lots more to do, but it's a great start. I'm beat!

Why do I have a feeling that the next picture we see.....will be the subframe completely off....all suspension disassembled and heading to paint or powder coat?

It`s always difficult to stop on these type of projects especially if your like Bill

Those pics of the nose off the car bring back memories. Looks like the process has begun.

Good luck..wilma

I told Bill the car would be upside down in his garage with him scraping the undercoating off by July 4th. He is ahead of schedule like a typical perfectionist.

Lots of progress this evening. Got the engine out, removed the column shift steering column, auto pedal assembly, many small parts like wipers, wire harnesses. Also got all the brake lines, and master out, all in the garbage. Here's a few shots of the progress, and my storage issues, which I have to deal with. The whole shop is a mess. By tomorrow night, I hope to get everything stored away, and get the dozens of tools put away.
