My 72 ss build sheet has the D88 for the hood and deck stripes but also says ZR8 wht sport stripe what stripe is this??

What color is your 72 SS body?
RPO ZR8 stands for an alternate stripe color. I'd imagine your white stripes were not the std. color scheme with your bodies paint color originally,so the buyer had to pay a lil extra by requesting RPO ZR8 to get them to be white.They began to incorporate this sometime after 1970 production,as it became more desireable to some,as opposed to having to stick with Chevrolets recommended color schemes or go through the red tape of a Central Office Production Order. |
