Default Original 1970 LS6 motor found with vin

Just bought a car over the weekend that was in barn since 1984. The car was bought from original owner in 1978, he took the small block out of the car and put this big block in it. While racing he got into an accident in 1991 and park the car with plans to fix it. Car will be restored but not putting the incorrect motor in it. After cleaning the engine pad, realized it is a real LS6 with a 70 Chevelle vin number on it. It would be nice to reunite the motor to the car or maybe the owner of the car didn't even know he had a real LS6 car. The vin number on the block is 10R217042, the pad is a TO227CRV, the build date on the block appears to be I8 of 69. Who knows maybe it's a 1970 LS6 convertible?
