Reuniting a car with its born-with motor

Just how much does an authentic born-with motor add to the value of a rare car?

And... what would be a reasonable way of determining the value of that original matching / born-with motor - fair to both the owner of the car and the owner of the motor?

Assume the car is an unrestored, but documented L78 convertible and there are no secrets between the parties.
