Can someone help decode this Muncie. The VIN looks like 19W431456. '69 Nova?

Correct. ...69 Nova. BTW....The "C" decodes as a M22.

That is a rare box for a Nova, didn't make many M22 equipped Novas for 68-69

The W in the vin stamp means Willow run , Michigan plant. It was a chevy II / Nova assembly plant

The full VIN would have likely been 114279W431456. I ran it through NMVTIS and no such vehicle is currently registered in the system.

Thanks guys,
I thought the W was for Willow Run but I needed an expert opinion. Also the VIN has not been tampered with but it does look like someone hammered on the case and dinged up the numbers.
Thanks, Chad

Sully is correct on this...the M22 was only available for two years in a Nova...1968 and 1969. As far as I know, it was only installed behind the L78 motors...I have never seen or heard of any other scenario. Surviving examples in the car are rare...it would be cool to reunite that trans with the car.

167....1968
682....1969
