Is the orig correct color on the 68 Z (non RS) grill suppose to be all silver or painted black with the only the edge silver? ?

marlin - the 68 copo is undergoing resto now by CPR..and considering its from yenko, i was checking the nameplate situation for those cars
The 68Z is done - but the 68Z grill i have is all silver and i was told that was not correct . . so im checking opinions on the correct color. Seems like resto's are never done!!

The grill is made in gray...argent silver for the center,black on the top and bottom and around the lights...argent overspray thru the inside and black overspray around the edges.The marker lights stay surrounded in argent....Help any ???

Ed, The grille on your car is wrong. I remember seeing a picture of it someplace. Steve's explaination of how it should be is correct. But you really need a good photo to understand how it should be. I don't have time to look for one at the moment. If you find a picture of a 68 non SS non RS camaro that is the way the Z/28 grille should be painted.
