Good morning Gang:

Nothing new in pictures - hopeful I'm not boring anyone with my ramblings . . .

We are running out of 2010 and will celebrate the new year in just a few days.
Can't tell you how much more meaningful our project has been in being able to share with all of you and for your encouragement along the way!!

Here's where we are today:
.....Frame, body and paint work are 100% complete
.....Engine, transmission and rear end are 100% complete
.....Interior, all detail work is yet to be done (wiring, upholstery, headliner, glass install, door panels, etc)
.....Under the hood, lots of work yet to be done (wiring, radiator install, hoses, ws wiper motor, regulators, brake booster & lines to valve, etc)
.....Exterior trim, mostly complete but some to be done (stainless ws trim, sidemarkers, mirror, glass trim, etc)
.....Exterior mechanical, mostly complete but a few remaining (front sway bar, drive shaft, bleed and set up the brakes, install gas tank & hook up)

I am capable, qualified and will most likely do most of this stuff except for setting the glass.
Planned originally to complete all of this stuff while the car was in Missouri but, I'm looking forward to the hands on time detailing it out.

I will be pleased to provide updates and of course pictures, as soon as I have news to report . . .

Have a safe and Happy New year

Happy New Year Kim and 'the gang'!

Progress is slow right now.

Detail work - searching for a few small (hard to find) trim parts that must be replaced . . .
Hopeful we can successfully navigate a couple of hurdles in the next few weeks and then start on the major detail stuff.

When I bought the car back, a 10 bolt open rear end was installed and a 1970 12 bolt posi (wrong PN, wrong cast date) was included with the car (loose).
I Tracked down a cast date correct, PN correct 12 bolt and traded the '70 12 bolt for it. It now has a correct Eaton Series 4 Posi w/correct 4.10 gears.

Neighbors, Steve Venable and Keith Chandler had parts (date correct 840 heads and a series 4 Eaton posi) and helping locate parts.
They have been with me all the way on my adventure along with several other neighbors who have similar interests.
In fact, my first project part came from another next door neighbor, Gary Garrett who shares a back fence.
He brought over a set of NOS stainless steel seat belt holders he had on hand.
Gary also took the picture of my wife and I next to the car the day we brought it home - Keith and Steve were over that day as well.

Keith and Steve are both into muscle cars and Corvettes - good friends, always ready to help and close by . . .

Gary and his son are also into muscle cars - having done several projects over the years.
One of their projects has been featured in a couple of magazines - a killer resto-mod on a Chevy PU. . .
Gary introduced me to A.C.E.S and in fact, his efforts resulted in a visit to my home by none other than . . .
Chuck Hanson (A.C.E.S. Prez) to see the car and look over my documents in Sept 2009, just a few weeks after I brought it back home

Chuck did a short article in Chevelle World, March 2010
