1969 Z28 Restoration - Page 4

Just ordered a LOF front glass from Pilkington Classic Division which owns LOF and claims to be using original patterns/molds.

Side note: They also said on the Soft Ray glass theirs is green Soft Ray not blue.
Anyone dealt with them before?

Glass, Date coded, and shipping $350
Not too bad if it is CORRECT!!!

Will update with photos when it arrives...

real nice James. I used their glass in the front and back of my 69. Looks real nice and correct to me. Looks like you did not go crazy with the paint marks either.

It is very nice glass, and the price wasn't too bad, 350 or so for the front.

and yes... I tried to stay away from being labeled "Restoration Graffiti." thank you for noticing. I also stayed away from CAST BLAST and paint on cast parts which in turn made me fall in love with and invest heavily in Boeshield and Cosmoline.
I more or less replicated the survivors I have seen and photographed.

Glad to see someone else not using cast blast paint. They look so much more authentic when they are not painted. Just my opinion. It is coming along nicely. Keep up the nice work.

Not only do they look more authentic, they age like they should.

When the rest of the car ages and gains the beautiful patina like it should, a resto with painted cast parts looks like a resto with painted cast parts...

IMHO the ultimate compliment would be if someone looks at a car I restored and second guesses as to whether it is a survivor or not.

I love Boeshield! My survivor nova drinks it. I like the look of cars and NOT lawn ornaments.

James - what an impressive resto. I see what you are trying to do with "no cast blast" and the like. AZ wx allows for un covered metal for the most part and I just love the real patina of metal if at all possible.

Looks Great James , My color too. Let me know when you get to lower windshield trim. I need a picture of how that goes on
