That was a '69 2+2, I think, and it was a 427 car. I know the car was famous around the Net . . . . can't find it, though. I would think it was a 390 hp version.

You're probably right. I have the issue buried somewhere around here, I'll have to see if I can find it.

And now, how about the Randall 401XR Gremlin:

1972 Pontiac Lemans with a ducktail spoiler. Rumored 2 were built, extra spoilers were dumped into the parts bins.

1970 Canadian Pontiac - LS5 454 - 1 of 4 built

great thread!! Love reading about these odd cars.. One burning question to me though. That blue 70 stripeless Judge. Why didn't the original owner just order a Ram air GTO and install a spoiler? Would have been cheaper to do..

Good question! The original owner (according to Diego's article) is a woman now in her 80's, I would imagine that she really wanted a Judge, didn't like the stripes, but wanted the wing and the Judge stickers.

A Judge is nothing more than a Ram Air GTO with stickers and a wing, so yes, she could have ordered a Ram Air GTO and had them install a wing at the dealership. But I'd be curious what the dealer would have charged for a wing back then, and the labor to paint it and install it. It may have been cheaper to get the Judge sans stripes.

Not exactly a factory freak, but something you don't see too often.
