So if people can post directly from their computer files directly, why all the
continued concern about 3rd party hosting sites ???

Because of all the historic threads that can't be edited to reload replacement photos. If someone could figure out a way to allow editing those, it would solve the problem. My old Firebird threads here are all useless now.
