I should add that a couple of people had contacted me offering to send me copies of most or all the photos that I originally posted. While I appreciate the offer it would still have taken as much time so I just opted to start from scratch. This also allowed me to post some updated photos. Thanks to you both for offering to help.

thanks for posting and reposting

It is a great thread

Having had a few 68 and 69 Chevelles and El Caminos over the last 40 years, it is very interesting to see your restoration

years ago another hard part to find was the 69 Chevelle grill

I went to buy a new one from Chevy back in the 1980s and the parts guy said he can get it so I ordered it.
When it came in, it was what I call the 300 Standard grill which is different then the Malibu grill.
He said it was the only one he can get ( SS or non SS)

The early reproduction was not very good, not sure about the repop that is sold today

The body was set down on the frame late last week and is being striped this morning for the photo shoot that will take place late this afternoon. Here is our completed chassis we restored Muscle Car Restoration and Design.

Here the body is being mated to the body that Jamie and crew restored. I will update some more photos tomorrow with the car in stripes. From here it comes back to us for the entire interior restoration and install as well as the front clip assembly. Homeward bound but still hundreds of hours to go. These guys continue to work tirelessly and all hands on deck so that they were done in time for the photo shoot. This will be in the April issue of Muscle Car Review and will feature the bodywork and paint on this car.

A little out of sequence but here is the shifter, reverse lock out and z-bar rebuild. These shifters are junk so a lot of time and effort goes into them to make them better than they were though they will never be as good as a Hurst. Steve Gregori (www.brakeboosters.com) handled all the plating for these component parts as well as the rest of the car.

Note the factory installed plug in the clutch z-bar. It was up to the mechanic at the 1st oil change to install the grease zirc fitting. This plug was still on our Chevelle so it was cleaned and reused.
