There is reason to believe that isn't #42. Durham's ZL1 was one of the 50 Fred Gibb Chev ordered; all were X44 trim level meaning no bright drip rail trim. The car in the photo has the trim. For '69, the pillar rail on style trim cars is shorter; you can't just add the trim.
Legend has it there was a disagreement between Durham and Lustine and the car was repossessed. Original 1969 photos show Lustine sponsorship; gone in later photos.
Also vintage pics of ZL1 #4 show it ran in NHRA SS/BA. This car is in SS/E. Any NHRA historians care to comment?
