What a beauty! Anything on the docs about the red hockey stick stripe? Anybody know if that was automatically applied with a black/red car?

Great question. Many years ago I had a 1969 SS 396 350hp Camaro with original Black paint and Black Hounds tooth interior that had a factory Red stripe. The car was nothing special and I assumed the Red SS stripe came with the Black exterior as a default.

This from the CRG

http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors

Table Footnotes:
  1. 1969: Tuxedo Black coupes with Black interior and D90, DX1, or D96 stripe (not Z28) and without* vinyl top received a Red stripe. (* Note: Original paint black cars with black vinyl tops have a red stripe, so GM documentation appears to be in error on this detail).
