Beautiful car.
What a strange set of circumstances. In 1967 Ford had the Fairlane GT - it's top level mid-sized muscle car. Was available with the 390-4V engine. But NOT the 427. This magazine ad shows a Fairlane GT and what appears to be the 427 option. But go to your dealer and try to order one - NG. ![]() |

8k Tach was optional and just 2” in diameter. I read in an article (assuming from Marti report) that just 2 of the 72 R code 500XL’s had the on-dash tach installed by Ford. I’m sure Gary has one-I just can’t see him drilling an NOS pad to install when it didn’t have one originally.

Interesting - I see it's only the 410 HP engine and not the 425 HP dual quad 427.
