For those not familiar traveling down the Oregon Coast from the Columbia River
to The Calif Redwoods is VERY scenic .............

Too bad that you mid west and east coast people most likely will never take
the time or expense to EXPERIENCE this.............

I purchased two general admission tix for Aug 17th (11am) and will be driving
down and back same day........................

I, for one mid-westerner, have been to OR several times. I have family in Portland and Eugene, and inherited my parents wander-lust. I have driven the Columbia river to ID and PCH down to San Diego.

One one rare occasion that I FLEW into Portland, one hour later I was roaming All American Classics (vintage salvage yard) in Vancouver WA. Beautiful scenery, yes.

Be careful Midwesterners-it can get you. I'm a native Minne-sooootan who came to Seattle for a 2-3 year stint. That was 32 years ago. BTW, got my ticket for the Brothers tour in August. Gotta see these things while they're here. They don't last forever (see Harrah's).

I am considering going to The Borthers event August 17th, does anyone know more than the ticket sales website info?

For example: how long is the collection open? Can I spend the whole day Aug 17th inside the collection?

I don’t want to travel for a day there and a day to get home and find out it’s a one hour viewing window……

Ryan - I live very close to you and seeing the Brothers Collection is definitely on my bucket list but flying there for a 1 day car show does seem like a big expense. Have you found other things to do in the area to make a vacation out of it? Feel free to send me a PM if that is better for you?

Charley, can you make any suggestions on what someone who has never been to the area before might find interesting?

Default Oregon Sightseeing

SALEM is on the Main !-5 North/South Freeway (Canada to Mexico)

Assuming that you flew into Portland and rented car, your best vacation choices are:

1) come out to the Coast and drive 101 up to Cannon Beach and other places
(Search Oregon Coast Sightseeing)

2) You could drive into Central OR and Visit CRATER LAKE Natl Park....

Just depends how much $$$ and time you want to invest into looking around the state
of Oregon..........or you could fly into Portland and drive up to Seattle to fly back.........Visiting the Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Mt St Helens
and Tacoma/Seattle

Just a matter of time and money for most people.........

I'm a Seattle native if you have specific questions
