Re: '69 Yenko Nova.....
Last fall I met a guy who told me that back in 69/70 he owned a green 427 Yenko Nova... told me his brother or buddy (can't remember which) also had an orange Yenko camaro. He claimed they used to live in Pittsburgh and street raced both cars, along with another large group of buddies who also had "hot" cars that were new or practically new at the time... he was definitely NOT a car guy now, and really didn't have any idea a "Yenko" was worth anything today, and had forgotten he even HAD a Yenko car until he heard me talking about Yenko cars to someone else... when pressed, he claimed the car was green, and had a black vinyl top, a 4 speed, and Yenko stripes and badges... he also said it ha a "real big engine." No idea if there is any correlation to the ad you saw and the car this guy told me about. I went so far as to see if he had any old paperwork on the car or could remember who he sold it to, but he didn't... He said back then everyone had hot cars, and it wasn't a big deal to him at the time, he just knew it was fast and alot of fun... He COULD have made the whole story up, but he seemed honest and nieve enough about the whole thing that i doubt it was a made up story. Does anyone know of any Green/Vinyl Top 69 427 Novas that would have spent time in and around Pittsburgh in 69/70? Could it have been the same car that was advertised for sale in the Pittsburgh paper years later?
