Bert found the rear black California license plate with '68 & '69 stickers, Cormier plate frame and the original California Title that was never surrendered to Hawaii DMV which further authenticates the 1,719 original odometer miles. lol... that's less than 45 miles @ year since new.

Besides being probably the most significant find in recent memory, what amazes me most is how it sat in the same spot through four decades-the owner HAD to know the value, did nothing with it,and being a relatively known item, noone managed to persuade him to sell it sooner?.To the victor!

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know Steve personally, but I know his reputation. I'm willing to bet there were no victors. Steve got what he wanted, and Bert got what he wanted.

I would think in this situation, they are both victors and likely long term friends because of this transaction.

Thanks guys...I have every indication that Bert is happy with our deal...I know I am!

Just got off the phone with Brian Henderson @ SuperCar WorkShop...he **thinks** he'll be able to get the Dana "427" Camaro to SCR-10 this summer as a "roller/pusher". Time just doesn't allow for any drivetrain or mechanical repairs prior to the Reunion this summer, but it looks like it will be there for display purposes, "as found".

Thanks to Brian, Joe, Frank and the whole SuperCar Workshop and Arone's Body Shop crew for making this car's display at SCR-10 a reality.
I'm also hopeful that Bert Nakamura will be able to attend SCR-10 to share the war-stories that he and his brother, Bruce, and this Dana converted Camaro endured/survived back in 1969 & 1970 at the Honolulu drag strip.
