Ok, well...it ain't next week but I started to assemble the body which will make it easier to wetsand and polish. Starting to look like a car! You can see I reattached the body buck tag by the fender, and as I may have mentioned before, my tag is actually a Mercury trim tag. This was part of Ford's recycling process for a few months at the Dearborn plant. My car just happens to have one of those tags! Oh... and I found out that 610 is the second rotation number, and the body buck tag has the first one in the upper right hand corner. A neat thing to see!
![]() Now I just need to spend a day and blast a bunch of parts in the cabinet for reassembly. Anyone want to help? ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Dave |

Killer work, as usual. That Mercury tag is pretty crazy and it's hard to believe they did stuff like that.

Let's see... back from MCACN.... back to work.... back to reality!
![]() ![]() Some more front end parts, hood hinges, and shiney bolts installed. The wheel lip moldings getting fitted up and they fit surprisingly well. Once I get the hood on and the front sheet metal aligned, it'll come off the twirler and let the wetsanding games begin! And yes.... that's a run/sag/curtain in the clear on the fender in front of the wheel lip and above the marker light. That's for the hired help (me) to wetsand out. Stay tuned for a tutorial on how to fix fender and cowl dents after a freshly painted hood gets dropped on them, and how to blend paint after wetsanding through the clearcoat! ![]() Who needs reality TV when you have my threads to read! ![]() Cheers Dave Last edited by A12pilot; 11-30-2017 at 12:46 PM. |

Dave
are you restoring the car as a Bullitt clone or as from the factory? Just wondering why you are installing W/O trim? Paul

Sell that fill plug to a Muncie guy and it'll just about pay for your rebuild kit on the trans.

I've got one of those T&C transmissions that's been sitting around my shop for about 10 years with all of the parts to rebuild it. There just never seems to be enough time to work on it. I've also got a C7ME block with all of the parts to assemble it. I wish I had a nice '67-'68 Mustang fast back or a '66 Fairlane GT to put them in.
How is the engine work going? Are you going to be able to save the original block?
