Being that this car came to me in project form, one of the first things I did was to perform an audit of all the loose parts to see what was useable, what wouldn't be and what was missing. It didn't take long to notice the yellow wind lace moldings were missing in action and that I could use some better interior trim pieces to restore along with the seats. I reached out to Joe (X66 714) who's restored his Yellow on Yellow SS before and asked if he could share any insights...or if he might have some spare parts through his years of owning a yellow interior car. He graciously responded by sharing a wealth of knowledge on yellow interiors, and also told me that he had some spare parts he could share including yellow wind lace moldings, deluxe door pulls and door handle cups. Parts are now on the way and these pieces will be thoroughly cleaned and dyed to match the rest of the restored interior during the coming months.
Big thanks to Joe I. for the yellow trim parts and sharing his knowledge of 714 interiors.

Finally got the shop cleaned up today and chained up a couple of lifting joists from the attic. With the car suspended I got the new frame jig mounted under the car and elevated things to a nice working height. Still have a few things left to do and need to order some 1/2" hardware tomorrow so it's bolted up tight and ready to roll out to the body shop in early September. Just waiting on an AMK fastener kit and a few minor parts to arrive and it goes for a 90 day stint in the shop before it comes out looking completely different.

Good progress! Looks like you're planning to R&R a fair bit of the firewall/tunnel junction, was that whole area damaged from the clutch explosion?
If you get a chance to look during disassembly, could you confirm if the firewall oil line grommet pictured above has any identifying numbers on it? Thanks!

Looks like someone changed out the rear spoiler at some point. In the photos you received from Robin, the car appears to have the narrow spoiler. Now it looks to have the full width version.

Good eye Dave. I believe the car had a narrow spoiler up until the mid 80's when Robin crashed into his buddies car after a street race. Apparently after the run, he pulled in behind his buddy who then nailed the brakes when a car pulled out in front of them. His buddy's car submarined and Robin swerved right to take his friends bumper down the left side of the Z/28. Apparently his buddies right mirror broke off as he side swiped his car in the process and the mirror was wedged between the deck lid and the spoiler. Needless to say it broke the spoiler was later replaced with one from another car. If only these cars could talk, because this one sure had some stories to be told.

Hey Graeme, with our VINs being so close it might be intersting to compare the stamp on the inside LH rear quarter...

Rob, I need to hit it with some thinner and get the numbers more readable but it appears we have the same date as it's K08 L8573 (last looks like could be a 9)
Tim...the Oil line grommet has a 42 and some other character I cannot read clearly? CV perhaps?
