----I always look at 65 fuelie's with side exhaust and have to check the serial # as well as other telltale signs. Side pipes were late in the year, and fuelie's were fazed out in the middle of the year. They didn't overlap by much so are very rare. I saw a triple black 65 fuelie late in the winter of 65 (app. early March) on the Harvard campus and it had side pipes. 1st one I had ever seen, and I have seen only a tiny number of verifiable one's since. That black 65 ended up in a close friends garage in Provincetown on Cape Cod many years ago and I know it well!.....Bill S

The steam tractors a few pages back made me think on this one, on display in Henry Ford's Greenfield Village.
The sign has always cracked me up, where it talks about "the pinnacle of steam technology". To me that would be akin to "the acme of stone tools" or some such thing. K

A '65 fuelie with side pipes is a rare car, if both are real!
