Default Re: 1967 festival IPC car E-Bay

keep in mind the car was restored in the early early 80's when there were not alot of aftermarket parts being made. the car had full nos gm conv. quarters installed .I have only seen 2 sets ever advertized. I got in to these cars in the mid 80's and 67 and 68 conv quarters were not to be had at that time,I bought 69 conv quarter for 220.00 eh. from gm then. the point is they used what they had to, and fixed the car. it could have gone like this the car is to rusty and so lets part it out and crush the rest like so many others have been done over the years. so i would say it is a good thing that the car was saved and it can be all corrected and be made super nice againg some day

Like the 1970 Z-28 in the thread above the auction was ended early. Looks like E-Bay is a good place to place an "ad" for your car and then sell it off line??

That is what I did with my 70 LS5 454 when I sold it in April. Three guys wanted it at the same time and I even sold it for $500 more than the buy it now! All the guys just did not want to bid on an auction. I even let the auction run it's course...weird.

This car is clearly very early production for a pace car being build # 92709 which should place the VIN as #124677N191992. This car is the earliest Vin# that has
surfaced so far with out a fleet code stamped on the trim tag. WOW!!

It appears to be complete and the real deal.

Close it's 124677N191975, it's in Donna Crispino's pace car book. There is one with a lower body number (by one), but a higher VIN (in the 7N1919xx's) and then everything else is in the 192xxx's and higher.

I Nice to see #124677N191975 has finally popped up with an owner and location. I own 92708- the one with the lower body number.

Mark,

It appears that the owner has confirmed the vin# as 992, in the question and answer portion of his auction. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Some and some do not. It is kind of like the fleet codes. Sometimes they were stamped on the trim tag. To be a little more specific to your question - yes there were numbers and a two letter prefix as well above the VIN# on some of the cars.
