There is no doubt some of the spring time colors saw Canonsburg. There were a few of those colors sold at Yenko..BKH

Absolutly. A very rusty SF yellow one setting in a mud puddle comes to mind. That was a Yenko dealer car. But many like mine, and the Halverson deuce, actually that whole transport load, were shipped direct to the dealer network. Cronkleton's falls in there somewhere being a Ericksen sold car and a Hurst finish.

on the chart what does MSO and COMP DATE signify??

Also I have read that thy used a LT1 from a vette vs a camaro

[/ QUOTE ]Wern't the Vette LT-1's and the 70 Z/28's the same motor? Were they not built at the same place and stamped with a Yenko Deuce code? [/quote )

There wasn't a Yenko deuce suffix code per say. The COPO power train was a Z28 LT/1, M21, and CBW rear. In the advertisemant Don calls out a 370hp Corvette type motor. I believe he did that so he could say that a deuce had more hp than a Z. Remember too, that most people believed back in the day, that the 66,67 Chevy 11 L79's were corvette motors.

I believe GM rated the Vette motor (LT-1) higher than the Z because their premiere car was NOT going to have the same or less hp than the second stringers. Camaros, Deuces etc. The L79 motors in the 65,66,67 chevelles and the 66-67 chevy 11's were the same as the vette. Same components anyways I believe. What was different the oil pan in the chevy 11's? Speak to me I learn more stuff everyday!

Or did they rate the Z28 motor lower so the Vette would still be the top performer?

I thought that chevy wanted the vette to remain top hp dog for marketing reasons.

Jeff and Carl, I think I said that! The Vette ruled the roost for GM. That is why Chevy quickly took the 6 banger out of the 55 vette cause the double 5 chevy had a bigger, more hp motor.

I always thought it was keeping the vette top dog and the 10 HP dif was open element air cleaner vs the dual snorkel...
