She and I have been married for 17 years now...and it's all Paul's fault. He was a heck of a matchmaker.

Very cool Steve! I guess it would be an understatement to say that Paul had an influence on your life I can just hear his voice giving you that "advice"

We were also saddened to hear the news

Bill remembers how thrilled Paul was to be the first one to photograph the Bobcat for a magazine since 1969. He shot the car at the GM Tech Center (shortly after it's restoration) for an article he wrote in this issue of Car Review:

Tony~ Since this magazine came out in 1986, you may have read this in grade school (that's gonna make Bill feel OLD LOL!)

We also got some sad news on New Years Day. We lost our friend Ed (ironically, he was also a Corvette and Pontiac Enthusiast!) He was very involved with our GTO club and was currently serving as the secretary.
Here he is at the GM Heritage Center a few years back (he's the "taller" one, on the right)

Rita,

My wife was Paul's official English translator from 1987 to around 1993, when we got married. She would edit his writings from Florida English to real English. I'd always hear them yelling at each other in the hallway. He'd write something like: "the car needed restored" and she would go bonkers trying to remind him that the correct phrasing involved the use of the words "to be" as in "the car needed to be restored." Sometimes I think he would write that stuff just to get a violent reaction from her.

It was quite the fun time back then. Dobbs Publishing Group was a nice, family oriented place and the people there were very much like the quirky cast of "The Office."

Another one of those guys who probably did not realize how many lives he touched. Well respected, well informed, and a wealth of information to many people.

Sign me up as one of those who read his stuff in my formative youth. He will be missed!!!!

Paul knew more about Car and Driver GTO than I did - course that may not be saying all that much! Though his last write-up (and he's done a good few) after Scott cleaned the car up is the original owner's favorite - and that's saying something! RIP Paul
