I have seen them both ways but most of them have been on Chevelles or Impalas. I have an untouched original 69 shroud on my shelf right now that is definitely a chrome appearance and not silver.

Thanks fellas for the responses!! I greatly appreciate it.. I was inquiring because I just picked up an original 69 SS steering wheel with the shroud for my 69 Chevelle and the shroud has the chrome like appearance on the bands and is in very good condition... I didn't know if this was model specific or only done with an upgraded interior package..
Now I don't know if I want to use that shroud considering I paid for the wheel and shroud what the NOS shroud is selling for on E-Bay.. Maybe I will just use a very clean 69 SS shroud I have that I colored the bands in silver leaf.... Rich
