I say aim for Bias-ply,they just look 100% better then radials.
And if your doing it for the ride, todays' are much better composition then the ones made 45 years ago.Plus unless you're driving the car every single day to work & back,I don't understand the complaint.
When someone complains about a muscle cars gas mileage,or running radials rather then bias,I just shake my head.

Dance with who brung ya..

Back in 1990 I had bias ply tires (Goodyear Polyglas F-70-14 front, Kelly Charger G-60-14 rear) on a '70 Nova I drove daily. I didn't think it was that bad. Pulled around a bit on roads with ruts, or grooves, but not dangerous or scary by any means.

Mark - since you are from the 'burg, you might recall the stretch of Rt 51 leaving the west end circle used to be heavily grooved concrete pavement. That is where I felt the bias plys the most. It would dance around on those grooves a bit.

novadude, oh yeah, I remember that section of 51 was probably the most grooved road around Pgh. My sister lived in McKees Rocks for a while so we had to drive that section of 51 quite a bit coming from the South Hills.

Well, I'm still on the fence about the tires as I saw this Camaro and thought it looked pretty good with the BFG Radials on it.

Different style of your car though. Your car is dated due to the paint and speed parts. Your car would look better with bias. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: markinnaples</div><div class="ubbcode-body">

I grew up in Sheraden. A 20-30 minute walk up the hill from Crivelli Chevrolet in McKees Rocks Plaza.

A friend grew up in Sheraden, Jim Knetzer, maybe you'll know him or his family? I think his family was pretty big.

Just went through the circle tonight on my way from town to Sheraden. Someone who hasn't seen it in 5 years would never recognize it. And that stretch of 51 will be unrecognizable when it reopens.
